In a win for wetlands protection, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Curtis A. Kin ruled in favor of the Ballona Wetlands Land Trust on September 8, 2023, finding that the California Fish and Game Commission had failed in its duty to determine compatible land uses for the baseball field and parking lots located within the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve.
